UAE Secretly Attacked Iran During War, Wall Street Journal Reports
Dubai: A report published by The Wall Street Journal has claimed that the United Arab Emirates secretly carried out attacks against Iran during the recent conflict involving the United States and Israel.
According to the report, the UAE targeted an oil refinery located on Iran’s Lavan Island, causing a massive fire that temporarily shut down refinery operations. Sources cited by the newspaper said the strike took place in early April, shortly before Donald Trump was expected to announce a ceasefire with Iran.
The report further claimed that the United States quietly welcomed the UAE’s involvement in the conflict.
In response to the alleged attacks, Iran reportedly launched ballistic missile and drone strikes against the UAE and Kuwait. The newspaper stated that Iran carried out nearly 2,800 attacks targeting the UAE, a number reportedly higher than the attacks directed at Israel during the same period.
Sources also told the publication that the ongoing conflict caused significant economic damage to the UAE, including increased layoffs, forced leave for workers, and major changes in the country’s national security strategy.
