Iran Says US Understands Missiles Better Than Diplomacy

Tehran: An Iranian lawmaker has sharply criticized the United States, claiming that Washington responds more to military pressure than diplomatic engagement amid rising tensions in the region.

Ebrahim Rezaei, spokesperson for the Iranian Parliament’s National Security and Foreign Policy Committee, said in a statement shared on social media that recent events demonstrate the United States is more responsive to military action than diplomatic efforts.

He also praised Iran’s armed forces, particularly the naval and aerospace units of the Revolutionary Guard, for their role in recent military operations.

Meanwhile, Iran’s Revolutionary Guard Aerospace Force claimed it carried out missile and drone strikes against what it described as American military targets in the region, including facilities associated with the US Fifth Fleet and other military installations.

According to Iranian media reports, the operation was launched in response to an alleged US strike on a communications tower located south of Qeshm Island.

Iranian officials further claimed that following an alleged attack on an Iranian oil tanker near the Strait of Hormuz, military forces targeted a vessel they linked to American and Israeli interests.

However, the US Central Command (CENTCOM) rejected the Iranian claims, stating that no damage was inflicted on the headquarters of the US Fifth Fleet and that all incoming threats were successfully intercepted.

US officials maintained that no American military facility suffered a successful attack and that defensive systems effectively neutralized potential dangers.

The exchange of statements highlights the continuing tensions between Tehran and Washington, as both sides present conflicting accounts of recent military developments in the region.
