According to Iranian officials, the latest round of hostilities followed an alleged US strike on infrastructure located on Qeshm Island. In response, Iran claimed it launched missile and drone attacks targeting American military assets and strategic facilities in the region.
Iran’s Revolutionary Guard stated that the operation was conducted after a communication tower on Qeshm Island was struck. Iranian media reported that several US-linked targets, including military installations and naval facilities, were selected as part of the response.
Iranian military representatives also warned that any actions affecting security near the Strait of Hormuz would face a strong reaction. Officials emphasized that the country’s armed forces remain fully prepared for further developments and possess a range of military options.
Senior Iranian commanders stated that the nation has continued strengthening its defense capabilities and would not back down under external pressure. They added that Iran has not yet utilized all of its military resources and remains ready for any future confrontation.
Meanwhile, the US Central Command (CENTCOM) reported that Iranian missile and drone attacks aimed at regional targets were successfully intercepted or failed to reach their intended destinations. According to the US military, several missiles launched toward neighboring countries did not hit their targets, while others were destroyed by defensive systems.
CENTCOM also stated that drone attacks directed at maritime targets were prevented and rejected claims that key American facilities in Bahrain had been damaged. The US military maintained that its operations were directed at Iranian military objectives and were carried out in response to previous Iranian actions.
In a separate development, US forces reportedly disabled an oil tanker traveling toward Iran’s Kharg Island, adding another layer of tension to the ongoing confrontation.
The latest exchange of military actions has heightened concerns about security across the Middle East, with observers closely monitoring the situation amid fears of further escalation.
