Pakistan Says US-Iran Peace Deal Could Be Finalized Within 24 Hours, Electronic Signing Planned

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has announced that a peace agreement between the United States and Iran is closer than ever, with finalization expected within the next 24 hours.

In a statement posted on X, the Pakistani premier said Islamabad is preparing for the electronic signing of the proposed peace deal immediately after its final approval, followed by technical-level negotiations scheduled for next week.

“We are closer to a peace deal than ever before,” Sharif wrote, expressing optimism that ongoing diplomatic efforts could soon produce a breakthrough after months of negotiations and regional tensions. He added that Pakistan is coordinating closely with both Washington and Tehran regarding the next phase of the process.

A day earlier, the prime minister revealed that negotiators had already reached a final agreed text of the proposed peace framework. According to Sharif, Pakistan has been actively engaged in mediation efforts and is now working with both sides to finalize implementation procedures and signing arrangements.

The proposed agreement is expected to serve as an initial framework aimed at ending months of conflict and opening the door to broader negotiations on key issues, including regional security, economic measures, maritime navigation, and Iran’s nuclear program. Technical discussions are expected to continue after the signing to address unresolved matters and implementation details.

Sharif also thanked both the United States and Iran for their continued engagement in the talks and acknowledged the support of regional partners who have contributed to diplomatic efforts. He expressed hope that the agreement would lay the foundation for lasting peace and stability across the Middle East.

Despite growing optimism, officials have emphasized that the agreement has not yet been formally signed. Observers say the next 24 hours could prove critical in determining whether the framework moves from negotiation to implementation.
