ISLAMABAD – Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar has welcomed the reported understanding reached between Iran and the United States, describing it as a significant diplomatic achievement and an encouraging development for regional stability.
In a statement shared on X, Dar said Pakistan looks forward to the expected signing ceremony of the Iran-US agreement in Geneva on June 19. He noted that Islamabad has consistently supported dialogue, restraint, and constructive engagement throughout the negotiation process.
The deputy prime minister expressed appreciation for the confidence shown by both Washington and Tehran in pursuing diplomatic solutions. He said the latest progress demonstrates the value of negotiations in resolving complex international disputes and reducing tensions.
Dar reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to promoting peace, stability, and cooperation across the region. He added that Pakistan would continue to support efforts aimed at ensuring the successful implementation of the ongoing diplomatic process.
The foreign minister also praised the willingness of both the United States and Iran to engage through dialogue rather than confrontation. According to him, the reported breakthrough reflects the effectiveness of diplomatic engagement in addressing long-standing challenges.
He acknowledged the role played by the international community, including the United Nations and several regional partners, in supporting efforts to advance negotiations.
