The situation in the border area of Angoor Adda in South Waziristan has escalated following alleged unprovoked firing by the Afghan Taliban. In response, the Pakistan Army conducted a swift and effective counterattack, destroying several Afghan posts.
According to security sources, the timely action by the Pakistan Army thwarted an attempt by the Afghan Taliban to infiltrate into Pakistani territory. After the failed infiltration, the Afghan Taliban targeted nearby civilian areas.
The cross-border firing resulted in the injury of three civilians, including two women, who were immediately rushed to Wana Hospital for treatment.
Security officials stated that the ongoing operations under “Operation Ghazab al-Haq” have inflicted significant losses on the insurgent groups, causing them to panic and resort to attacking civilian populations.
Meanwhile, local residents strongly condemned the firing incident by the Afghan Taliban and urged the Pakistan Army to continue its effective and robust counteraction.
