PTI and Opposition Alliance Announce Nationwide Protests for Imran Khan’s Release

Lahore: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and the Tehreek Tahaffuz Aain Pakistan have announced plans to hold rallies and protests across the country, calling for the protection of the constitution and the release of former Prime Minister Imran Khan.

The announcement came during a joint press conference in Lahore attended by key political leaders including Mahmood Khan Achakzai, Salman Akram Raja, Asad Qaiser, Latif Khosa, Umar Dar, and Ammar Ali Jan.

Speaking at the event, Achakzai criticized the current political environment, stressing the need for a strong parliamentary system where elected representatives hold decision-making power. He emphasized that their movement is peaceful and not aimed at confrontation but warned against any attempts to sideline Imran Khan from politics.

He further stated that the alliance would take its message “to every street,” urging state institutions to stay out of political matters. He also cautioned against blocking their planned protests, saying such actions could escalate tensions.

Salman Akram Raja, PTI’s Secretary General, declared that securing Imran Khan’s release and ensuring his health remain the party’s top priorities. He reiterated unwavering support for the former premier, stating that the public stands firmly behind him.

Raja also highlighted economic challenges facing the country, pointing to rising unemployment, struggling farmers, and lack of basic services. He criticized the government for failing to address public concerns, adding that the movement would continue under Imran Khan’s leadership.

Meanwhile, Asad Qaiser expressed solidarity with farmers, alleging exploitation in Punjab and announcing plans to engage farmer groups in the protest movement. He maintained that the struggle would remain peaceful and within constitutional limits.

The joint opposition alliance confirmed that a series of rallies and public gatherings will be organized nationwide in the coming days as part of their campaign.
