Iran Executes Two Men Accused of Spying for Mossad
Iran has executed two individuals accused of spying for Israel’s intelligence agency, Mossad, according to local media reports.
The semi-official Tasnim News Agency reported that the accused, identified as Yaqoub Karimpour and Nasser Baqerzadeh, were convicted of acting as agents for Mossad. Authorities alleged that the individuals were involved in intelligence activities linked to the period of the Iran-Iraq War.
Documents available on Iran’s Supreme Court website indicated that the suspects received digital funding in exchange for cooperation with Mossad and maintained contact through social media platforms.
According to officials, the accused gathered and shared sensitive information related to key locations, including the Natanz Nuclear Facility, which was considered a threat to national security.
Following their arrest, the individuals were tried in a local court, where they were sentenced to death. The verdict was later upheld by the Supreme Court, and both were executed on Sunday morning. The development comes amid ongoing tensions between Iran and Israel, with both nations frequently accusing each other of covert operations and intelligence activities
