Referring to this year’s theme, “Shaping a Peaceful Future,” he noted that it reflects the needs of the modern era. He added that journalists deserve a dignified, safe, and supportive environment to perform their duties effectively.
The prime minister further said that peace and stability in today’s world are not achieved through diplomacy alone, but also through responsible journalism, accurate information, and public awareness, all of which play a decisive role.
He pointed out that media has the potential to strengthen international relations by promoting meaningful and constructive dialogue between nations, adding that clear and balanced representation of viewpoints often helps resolve complex issues.
Sharif reiterated that Pakistan remains committed to peace and prioritizes dialogue and negotiations to resolve differences. He said that the country is playing a positive diplomatic role in reducing tensions and promoting stability in the region, which has also been acknowledged globally.

The prime minister paid tribute to journalists who lost their lives in the line of duty, calling their sacrifices a reminder of the value of press freedom.
He noted that the media landscape is rapidly evolving with digital transformation, and digital platforms now play a crucial role in shaping national and global public opinion. In this context, he stressed the importance of effectively projecting Pakistan’s perspective internationally.
