Pakistan Facilitates Progress in Iran-US Talks, Says Abbas Araghchi
Tehran: Iran’s Foreign Minister, Abbas Araghchi, has stated that diplomatic progress is being made in negotiations with the United States, largely due to Pakistan’s facilitation.
Speaking about recent regional developments, Araghchi emphasized that incidents in the Strait of Hormuz highlight the reality that political crises cannot be resolved through military means. He cautioned the United States against being drawn into further conflict and advised regional countries, including the United Arab Emirates, to act with restraint given the fragile situation.
The Iranian foreign minister also briefed Iran’s National Security Committee on proposals discussed during Iran-US talks held in Islamabad. He shared key recommendations and developments from the dialogue, outlining efforts aimed at reducing tensions and ending ongoing conflicts in the region.
During the committee meeting, Araghchi updated members on the latest diplomatic initiatives focused on achieving stability and de-escalation. According to a statement issued by Iran’s Foreign Ministry, parliamentary committees on national security and foreign policy stressed that Iran’s national interests must remain the top priority in any negotiations.
