Iran’s Rights Must Be Recognized by the US, Says Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf

Tehran: Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf has stated that the United States has no option but to recognize the rights of the Iranian people outlined in Iran’s 14-point proposal.

In a statement shared on social media platform X, the Iranian parliament speaker said the rights mentioned in the proposal are clear and unavoidable. He warned that any strategy ignoring these demands would ultimately fail and lead to repeated setbacks.

Ghalibaf added that continued delays by Washington would only increase the cost for American taxpayers. He stressed that Iran remains fully prepared for every possible scenario and said the country’s armed forces are ready to respond decisively to any aggression.

The Iranian official also remarked that the world has already witnessed how misguided policies and wrong decisions produce negative outcomes. According to him, Iran is capable of handling any future developments and its response would surprise opponents.

Meanwhile, Donald Trump has reportedly called a national security meeting at the White House to review Washington’s next steps regarding Iran.

Trump earlier said the ceasefire situation with Iran was “on a ventilator” and confirmed that a final decision on restarting “Project Freedom” had not yet been made. He criticized Iran’s latest proposals, calling them unreasonable, while insisting Tehran must never obtain nuclear weapons.

The US president also stated that pressure on Iran would continue until a possible agreement is reached. He claimed he was dissatisfied with the response from Iran’s representatives and vowed to push Iran’s hardline leadership toward compromise.

Trump further noted that Iran’s latest communication did not clearly mention abandoning nuclear weapons development. He added that discussions with China’s president would include Iran, Taiwan, Russia, and the issue of arms sales to Taiwan.
