Pakistan Will Continue Sincere Efforts for Lasting Peace and Mutual Respect: Ishaq Dar
ISLAMABAD: Ishaq Dar has said that Pakistan will continue its sincere efforts to promote lasting peace, mutual respect, and regional stability.
In a statement shared on X, the deputy prime minister thanked all parties involved in the peace process and appreciated ongoing diplomatic efforts aimed at reducing tensions in the region.
According to Ishaq Dar, Donald Trump held telephone conversations with leaders of several Muslim countries, including Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Türkiye, Qatar, Egypt, the United Arab Emirates, and Jordan.
He described President Trump’s diplomatic outreach as an important step toward regional stability and also praised US Vice President JD Vance, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and the American diplomatic team for their role in supporting dialogue and negotiations.
Ishaq Dar further appreciated the constructive role played by Iranian leadership, including Masoud Pezeshkian, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, and Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf.
He also expressed gratitude to António Guterres for supporting diplomatic initiatives aimed at peace and stability.
The deputy prime minister said Pakistan remained in continuous contact with regional partners since February 28, adding that cooperation from Saudi Arabia, Türkiye, Egypt, Qatar, and other countries played a key role in achieving progress in negotiations.
Ishaq Dar praised the leadership of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif for his commitment to peace and acknowledged the role of Syed Asim Munir, who represented Pakistan during the discussions and contributed significantly to the diplomatic process.
He also appreciated the continued efforts and support of Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs throughout the negotiations.
The deputy prime minister emphasized that Pakistan would continue supporting all sincere efforts aimed at promoting peace, mutual respect, and long-term regional stability. He added that dialogue and diplomacy should be prioritized over conflict and confrontation to ensure shared prosperity and security across the region.
