US Ready for Further Action Against Iran if No Agreement Is Reached, Says Defense Secretary
Singapore: US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth has stated that the United States is prepared to take further military action against Iran if diplomatic efforts fail to produce an agreement.
Speaking at one of Asia’s largest security and defense forums in Singapore, attended by military leaders, defense officials, and diplomats from across the region, Hegseth emphasized that the United States remains ready to respond if necessary.
He said that while Washington prefers a diplomatic solution, the US military is fully prepared to act should negotiations with Iran fail to achieve their objectives. According to Hegseth, America’s military capabilities and operational readiness are stronger than ever.
The defense secretary also highlighted the strength of the US defense infrastructure, noting that the country possesses extensive military resources and maintains a high level of preparedness for potential challenges.
Hegseth further stressed that despite ongoing tensions involving Iran, the United States remains committed to its strategic interests in the Asia-Pacific region and has not shifted its focus away from the area.
His remarks come amid continued international attention on US-Iran relations and ongoing discussions regarding regional security and stability.
