Iran Warns US Intervention in Strait of Hormuz Would Violate Ceasefire
Tehran: Iran has warned that any United States involvement in the new maritime arrangements in the Strait of Hormuz would be considered a violation of the ceasefire.
The warning came from Ebrahim Azizi, head of the Iranian Parliament’s National Security Committee. In a statement posted on X, he rejected what he described as “accusatory narratives” from the United States.
Azizi further stated that the Strait of Hormuz and the Persian Gulf cannot be managed through what he called “unrealistic posts” by Donald Trump, adding that the region is not a platform for rhetoric but a sensitive and strategic international waterway.
He emphasized that Iran views any external interference in the area as a serious escalation, signaling rising tensions over control and security of one of the world’s most critical oil transit routes.
