Iran Ready to Defend Itself With Full Force, Says Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi

Abbas Araghchi has said there is no military solution to the Iran issue, warning that Tehran is fully prepared to defend itself if war is imposed on the country.

Speaking at the BRICS foreign ministers’ meeting in New Delhi, Araghchi stated that Iran does not seek conflict and remains committed to diplomacy, negotiations, and regional stability. He emphasized that Tehran has consistently preferred political and diplomatic solutions over military confrontation.

The Iranian foreign minister also called on BRICS member states and the international community to openly condemn what he described as “illegal aggression” by the United States and Israel against Iran. According to him, rising tensions in the Middle East could pose serious risks to global peace and the international economy.

Commenting on the Strait of Hormuz, Araghchi said the strategic waterway remains open for commercial shipping from Iran’s perspective. However, he noted that vessels should cooperate with Iranian naval forces to help maintain security and stability in the region.

He further stated that the Iranian people are peace-loving and do not want war, but warned that any threat to Iran’s sovereignty or national interests would receive a strong response.

Analysts believe the remarks come at a time of continuing tensions between Iran, the United States, and Israel, while the situation surrounding the Strait of Hormuz remains under close international observation.
