Official Burial Ceremony for Ayatollah Khamenei Postponed Until Late June or Early July
Tehran: Tehran Mayor Ali Reza Zakani has reportedly announced that the official burial ceremony for Iran’s former Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, has been postponed until the end of June or the beginning of July.
According to media reports, the decision could result in the final funeral rites being held during the second ten days of Muharram, a period expected to fall between June 26 and July 5.
Earlier reports had suggested that the burial would take place at the start of Muharram. However, the latest developments indicate that authorities are reconsidering the schedule.
Officials in Tehran have not yet announced a final date for the ceremony. Reports indicate that planning is ongoing, with organizers taking into account official events, logistical requirements, and security arrangements before confirming the timetable.
Further details are expected once Iranian authorities release an official schedule for the funeral proceedings.
