Tehran Rejects Trump’s Claims on Prospective US-Iran Agreement
Tehran: Iran has dismissed recent statements by US President Donald Trump regarding a possible agreement between Washington and Tehran, emphasizing that no final deal has been reached so far.
Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Ismail Baghaei stated that reports circulating about a signing date and venue for a potential agreement are purely speculative and do not reflect any finalized arrangement.
According to the spokesperson, a substantial portion of the negotiating framework has been completed. However, he said that repeated changes in the US position have slowed progress and complicated efforts to move the talks forward.
Baghaei added that both Qatar and Pakistan have been playing important mediation roles throughout the diplomatic process. He reiterated that Iran remains committed to its core principles and red lines and will not compromise on issues it considers fundamental.
The remarks come amid continued diplomatic efforts aimed at resolving outstanding differences between Iran and the United States.
