China Praises Pakistan’s Role in Iran-US Ceasefire Efforts
Tehran: China has commended Pakistan for its constructive role in promoting peace in the Middle East and facilitating dialogue between Iran and the United States during the recent temporary ceasefire period.
According to reports from Tehran, Chinese Ambassador to Iran Kang Piao stated that Beijing appreciates Pakistan’s active diplomatic engagement, including its efforts to support negotiations and host discussions aimed at reducing tensions between Tehran and Washington.
The ambassador emphasized that disputes should be resolved through dialogue and diplomacy rather than military confrontation. He noted that China supports Iran’s right to safeguard its sovereignty, territorial integrity, and national security while continuing to advocate for peace and stability across the region.
Kang Piao said China has no hidden agenda in the Middle East and remains committed to encouraging peace, development, and regional cooperation. He stressed that continued negotiations are essential for achieving a lasting ceasefire and preventing future escalation.
Highlighting the strategic importance of the Strait of Hormuz, the Chinese envoy said the waterway plays a vital role in global trade and energy transportation. Ensuring its security and uninterrupted operation, he added, is in the interest of the international community.
The ambassador also stated that normal economic and trade relations between China and Iran would continue despite external pressures. He affirmed that Beijing would support legitimate cooperation between the two countries and oppose attempts to undermine their economic ties.
He concluded by saying that recent tensions have underscored the importance of international law and multilateral cooperation, adding that global challenges should be addressed through diplomatic engagement and respect for established international norms.
