Reported Details of Proposed 14-Point Iran-US Agreement Emerge

Tehran: Media reports from Iran and the Arab world have revealed alleged details of a proposed 14-point memorandum of understanding currently being discussed between Iran and the United States. The reported framework includes provisions related to ceasefires, sanctions relief, the release of frozen assets, and broader economic cooperation.

According to the reports, the draft proposal calls for an immediate and permanent ceasefire across multiple fronts, including Lebanon. The United States would also commit to respecting Iran’s sovereignty and refraining from interference in its internal affairs.

The proposed arrangement reportedly includes the lifting of maritime restrictions within 30 days and the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz to facilitate global trade and energy shipments.

Reports further suggest that Washington is considering the suspension of sanctions targeting Iran’s oil and petrochemical sectors. In addition, both sides are said to be exploring cooperation on reconstruction and economic recovery projects valued at approximately $300 billion.

Under the reported framework, a 60-day negotiation period would be established to address issues related to Iran’s nuclear program and the future of sanctions. During this period, no new US sanctions would be imposed on Iran.

The draft document is also said to include Iran’s renewed commitment not to pursue nuclear weapons, alongside a phased release of approximately $24 billion in frozen Iranian assets.

To oversee implementation, the proposal reportedly calls for the creation of a special monitoring mechanism. The final agreement would then be presented for international endorsement through a resolution of the United Nations Security Council.

According to the reports, Iran’s missile program and its support for regional allied groups would remain outside the scope of the negotiations. Instead, the discussions would focus primarily on uranium enrichment, sanctions relief, and economic recovery.

Arab media outlets have also reported that Iran prefers the agreement to be signed in a European country to enhance its international legal standing. Geneva, Switzerland, has been mentioned as a possible venue for a signing ceremony that could take place next week.

Some reports further claim that a Pakistani legal team may attend the signing event. However, no official confirmation of these claims has been issued by either side.

It should be noted that the reported details remain unconfirmed, and neither government has officially announced a finalized agreement.
