ISLAMABAD – Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is expected to participate in the upcoming ceremony marking the formal signing of the agreement between the United States and Iran, according to informed sources.

The event is expected to take place in Geneva, where senior officials and international representatives are anticipated to gather for the occasion. Sources said the Pakistani prime minister is likely to attend alongside a high-level delegation.

The development follows recent announcements indicating that negotiations between Washington and Tehran have resulted in a breakthrough agreement aimed at reducing tensions and establishing a framework for future cooperation.

Earlier, U.S. President Donald Trump publicly confirmed that an agreement with Iran had been reached. He congratulated all parties involved and described the arrangement as an important step toward regional stability and economic normalization.

According to statements attributed to the U.S. administration, the agreement includes measures related to maritime navigation and commercial shipping. Officials said the Strait of Hormuz would remain open for international traffic, helping restore confidence in global energy and trade routes.

Reports also indicate that restrictions affecting maritime access to Iranian ports are expected to be eased under the framework of the agreement, allowing commercial activities to resume more smoothly.

Iranian authorities have also acknowledged progress in negotiations and confirmed the existence of a peace arrangement with the United States, further strengthening expectations that the formal signing ceremony will proceed as planned.

Diplomatic observers view the anticipated ceremony as a significant milestone in efforts to reduce regional tensions and encourage dialogue between the two countries after a prolonged period of confrontation.

The participation of Pakistan’s leadership is being seen as a reflection of Islamabad’s support for diplomatic solutions and its interest in promoting peace, stability, and economic cooperation across the region.
