PM Shehbaz Meets Qatari Delegation, Discusses Expanding Investment in Pakistan
ISLAMABAD: Shehbaz Sharif held an important meeting with a Qatari delegation led by Mohammed Hussein Al Ali to discuss opportunities for expanding investment in Pakistan.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, federal ministers Ahsan Iqbal Chaudhary, Attaullah Tarar, Minister of State Bilal Azhar Kayani, and other senior officials.
During the discussion, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said Qatar has remained a long-standing friend of Pakistan and has supported the country during difficult times.
He said the government is taking priority measures to increase foreign investment and added that barriers to investment have been removed under the framework of the Special Investment Facilitation Council.
The prime minister highlighted Pakistan’s strong investment potential in tourism, hospitality, real estate, and construction sectors. He directed the relevant authorities to provide full support and facilitation to the Qatari group for investment projects in the country.
Mohammed Hussein Al Ali briefed the meeting on Tamim Group’s ongoing and planned investment initiatives in Pakistan. According to the briefing, the group is interested in expanding investments in hospitality, hotels, real estate, and construction, with work on several projects already underway.
The Qatari businessman also expressed keen interest in increasing the group’s investment portfolio in Pakistan and praised the government’s efforts to improve the business environment and attract foreign investors under Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s leadership.
He said the government is taking positive steps through the SIFC platform to facilitate international investors and create a more business-friendly environment.
