Mohsin Naqvi Arrives in Tehran with Special Messages from Pakistan’s Leadership

Tehran: Pakistan’s Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has said that he arrived in Tehran carrying special messages from Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir for Iran’s Supreme Leader regarding the evolving regional situation.

Speaking to the media during his visit to Iran, Naqvi said he was entrusted with delivering an important letter from the Field Marshal, along with a separate message from the Pakistani prime minister addressed to Iran’s top leadership.

During his meeting with Iranian Interior Minister Eskandar Momeni, both sides reviewed the regional security environment and exchanged views on matters of mutual interest. The discussions focused on strengthening bilateral cooperation and addressing developments affecting regional stability.

According to regional media reports, the Pakistani minister is expected to hold further talks aimed at advancing a potential memorandum of understanding between the two countries. The visit marks another step in ongoing diplomatic engagement, following Naqvi’s previous visits to Iran.

Media sources also suggested that progress has been made regarding discussions linked to Iranian frozen assets, although differences reportedly remain over the amount involved and the timeline for their release.

Separately, reports indicated that former U.S. President Donald Trump had informed mediators that negotiations should not extend beyond a 60-day period, placing emphasis on a timely response from Iran as diplomatic efforts continue.

The visit reflects continued communication between Islamabad and Tehran at a time when regional developments remain under close international attention.
