Pakistan Warns of Severe Consequences for Any Future Aggression: Field Marshal Asim Munir

RAWALPINDI: Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir on sunday warned that any future hostile action against Pakistan would lead to serious, far-reaching, and painful consequences, stating that the country’s defense is fully prepared against external threats.

He made these remarks while addressing a prestigious ceremony held at General Headquarters to mark one year since the success of Operation Bunyan-un-Marsoos, also referred to as “Battle of Truth.”

During his speech, the Field Marshal said the operation resulted in a major success for Pakistan, its people, and the armed forces. He described the conflict as a decisive struggle between truth and falsehood, claiming that Pakistan emerged victorious with determination and unity.

Asim Munir stated that India aims to alter the regional balance of power through military pressure and diplomatic isolation of Pakistan, but added that such ambitions would never succeed. He emphasized that Pakistan would continue safeguarding its sovereignty, territorial integrity, and national dignity at all costs.

Paying tribute to the martyrs and veterans of the operation, he honored civilians, including women, elderly citizens, and children who lost their lives during the conflict. He said the sacrifices of the martyrs would always remain a national trust and symbol of resilience.

The army chief further claimed that India suffered heavy human and financial losses during the confrontation. According to him, Pakistan’s missile systems and air force successfully targeted more than 26 enemy military sites during the operation.

He also highlighted the changing nature of modern warfare, saying future conflicts would involve multi-domain operations, including long-range weapons, drones, cyber warfare, and artificial intelligence technologies.

Field Marshal Asim Munir announced that Pakistan has established new Defense Forces Headquarters to modernize the armed forces in line with evolving military requirements. He also termed Pakistan’s strategic defense cooperation with Saudi Arabia a major diplomatic achievement.

Discussing regional security, he said Pakistan is playing an active role in peace diplomacy and hosting important negotiations. He accused India of supporting destabilizing activities after failing to challenge Pakistan through conventional warfare and urged Afghanistan to eliminate terrorist safe havens operating from its territory.

The Field Marshal praised the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, along with law enforcement agencies and security personnel, for their sacrifices in the fight against terrorism. He vowed that the campaign against militants would continue until the last terrorist is eliminated.

He reaffirmed Pakistan’s continued political, diplomatic, and moral support for the people of Kashmir and expressed confidence in the country’s future, saying Pakistan remains strong, united, and unconquerable.

The ceremony was attended by Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu and Naval Chief Naveed Ashraf. Floral wreaths were laid at the martyrs’ memorial while armed forces contingents presented a salute in honor of the fallen soldiers.

Meanwhile, thanksgiving events were also held across Pakistan to commemorate the anniversary of the operation. President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif praised the leadership of the armed forces and paid tribute to the martyrs and veterans for their sacrifices in defending the country.
