Residential Building Collapse in Morocco Kills 15 People
At least 15 people have died and five others were injured after a multi-storey residential building collapsed in the northern Moroccan city of Fez, according to local media reports.
A local official confirmed that the five-storey building, located in the Jnan Jdoud neighborhood of the Ain Naqbi district, suddenly collapsed, causing heavy casualties and panic among nearby residents.
Emergency and rescue operations were completed following the incident, while authorities moved quickly to secure the surrounding area. Residents of neighboring buildings were reportedly left frightened after the unexpected collapse.
Officials also evacuated four nearby buildings as a precautionary measure and launched an investigation to determine the cause of the collapse.
Authorities have not yet released any official explanation regarding what caused the building to fall.
