Iran-US Conflict Triggers Global Economic Concerns as 27 Countries Seek World Bank Assistance

The escalating tensions and ongoing conflict between Iran and the United States have started to create serious economic challenges across the globe, prompting 27 countries to seek emergency financial assistance from the World Bank.

According to a report by a British news agency, the countries requesting support are among 101 nations that already have access to the World Bank’s emergency financing mechanisms. The requests reportedly come amid rising global economic pressure, increasing oil prices, and growing trade disruptions linked to instability in the Middle East.

The report did not disclose the names of the countries seeking assistance, nor did it specify the total amount of financial aid requested. Meanwhile, the World Bank declined to immediately comment on the report.

Last month, Ajay Banga stated that the World Bank has the capacity to provide between $20 billion and $25 billion in financing to help countries manage global economic uncertainty and financial crises.

Economic experts say that rising tensions in the Middle East are increasing pressure on the global economy. Fluctuating oil prices, trade barriers, and declining investment levels are becoming major challenges for many developing nations.

Analysts also warn that continued instability in the region could further weaken global markets and slow economic growth, especially in countries heavily dependent on imported energy and international trade.
