Field Marshal Asim Munir Meets Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian in Tehran
Pakistan’s Chief of Defence Forces Syed Asim Munir held an important meeting with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian in Tehran as part of ongoing diplomatic efforts aimed at reducing tensions between Iran and the United States.
According to media reports, the meeting focused on regional peace, security, and the continuation of diplomatic dialogue amid the ongoing Iran-US negotiations. Both sides also discussed broader regional developments and the importance of maintaining stability in West Asia.
Field Marshal Asim Munir reportedly emphasized the need for a peaceful resolution to the conflict and stressed that dialogue remains the only effective path toward long-term regional stability. Iranian officials also appreciated Pakistan’s mediation efforts and its role in encouraging diplomatic engagement between Tehran and Washington.
The Pakistani military chief arrived in Tehran during a critical phase of ongoing negotiations and mediation efforts involving several regional countries. Reports suggest Pakistan is actively working to help transform the fragile ceasefire situation into a broader peace framework between Iran and the United States.
During the visit, Field Marshal Asim Munir also met senior Iranian leadership, including Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, to discuss regional security, diplomatic initiatives, and future cooperation.
The visit is being viewed as part of Pakistan’s wider diplomatic push to support peace efforts in the Middle East and strengthen bilateral relations with Iran.
