Trump Says US Capable of Accessing Iran’s Underground Enriched Uranium Stockpiles

Washington: U.S. President Donald Trump has claimed that the United States has the capability to gain access to Iran’s underground enriched uranium reserves if necessary, although he stressed that there is currently no need to take such action.

Speaking to reporters amid ongoing tensions in the Middle East, Trump said the United States is closely monitoring developments across the region. He added that discussions had taken place with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and representatives linked to the situation in Lebanon, indicating that some diplomatic progress had been made.

Meanwhile, efforts to secure a ceasefire between Lebanon and Israel through U.S. mediation have faced setbacks. Hezbollah leader Naim Qassem reportedly rejected the proposed arrangement, describing it as unacceptable and arguing that it would harm Lebanon’s interests.

Qassem warned that continued Israeli military operations in Lebanon could lead to further escalation, stating that northern Israel would remain vulnerable to retaliatory attacks as long as hostilities continue.

Israeli airstrikes have continued in several parts of Lebanon, resulting in casualties and injuries. Lebanese health authorities have reported significant human losses since the latest phase of the conflict began, highlighting the growing humanitarian impact of the violence.

The United Nations has also launched an investigation into an incident in southern Lebanon that resulted in the death of a peacekeeper and injuries to two others. Separately, the Israeli military reported that one of its soldiers was killed in a missile attack attributed to Hezbollah in the same region.

In Gaza, military operations have continued despite discussions surrounding a possible ceasefire. Palestinian officials reported additional casualties over the past day and warned that humanitarian conditions remain critical, renewing calls for international intervention and assistance.

The evolving situation involving Iran, Israel, Lebanon, and Gaza continues to draw global attention, with world powers closely watching developments that could affect regional stability and international security.
