Trump Calls for Comprehensive Ceasefire Across Middle East Fronts

Washington, June 19, 2026 — US President Donald Trump has expressed hope for a complete ceasefire involving all major parties engaged in regional tensions, including Lebanon, Hezbollah, and Israel.

In a statement shared on Truth Social, Trump reaffirmed Washington’s commitment to peace and urged all sides in the Middle East to remain dedicated to ongoing diplomatic efforts aimed at reducing conflict and promoting stability.

The US president said financial markets were responding positively to recent developments, pointing to lower oil prices and gains in stock markets. He described the economic trends as a positive sign and credited them to improving conditions in the region.

Trump also dismissed reports claiming that the United States was planning a $300 billion payment to Iran, calling such reports false and politically motivated misinformation.

Reiterating his position, Trump said the United States expects a full ceasefire across all active fronts involving Lebanon, Hezbollah, and Israel, emphasizing that peace remains a key objective of American foreign policy.

Earlier, while speaking with reporters in Paris, Trump commented on regional missile capabilities. He stated that if other countries possess ballistic missile systems, it may be viewed as unfair to deny Iran any comparable capability. He added that countries such as Saudi Arabia and Qatar maintain missile programs, and a proportionate level of capability for Iran could be considered acceptable.

Trump further noted that although the conflict involving Iran has significantly eased after months of tensions, the United States intends to maintain a military presence in the Gulf region for a period of time to support regional security and stability.
