Pakistan Playing Active Role to Reduce Middle East Tensions, Says Foreign Office
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan is actively contributing to diplomatic efforts aimed at reducing tensions in the Middle East, the Foreign Office said during its weekly media briefing on Friday.
According to the spokesperson, the discussions focused on Pakistan-Iran bilateral relations, regional security matters, and ongoing diplomatic coordination between the two neighbouring countries.
Foreign Office spokesperson Tahir Hussain Andrabi stated that Pakistan’s interior minister recently paid two visits to Iran, where important meetings were held with the Iranian leadership.
Highlighting Islamabad’s international partnerships, Andrabi said China has consistently supported Pakistan during difficult times and that relations between the two countries continue to grow stronger across multiple sectors.
He noted that Pakistan and China are maintaining close cooperation in trade, industry, education, and people-to-people exchanges, reflecting the depth of their long-standing strategic partnership.
The spokesperson further said both countries are commemorating 75 years of diplomatic relations by reaffirming their “iron-clad friendship” and mutual cooperation.
Andrabi added that Pakistan-China relations have strengthened steadily over time and that Beijing’s unwavering support for Islamabad remains unchanged.
He also said the prime minister’s upcoming visit is expected to further reinforce the Pakistan-China all-weather strategic partnership. During the visit, the premier will chair a Pakistan-China business-to-business conference and attend a reception in Beijing.
