Iran Claims Strikes on US Military Sites as CENTCOM Announces End of Retaliatory Operations

Tehran, June 10, 2026 — Iran has claimed responsibility for a series of attacks targeting US military facilities across the Middle East following recent American airstrikes in southern Iran, further escalating tensions in the region.

According to Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), long-range missiles and drones were used in operations aimed at several US-linked military locations in Bahrain, Kuwait, and Jordan. Iranian officials described the attacks as a response to what they called American aggression against targets inside Iran.

The IRGC stated that a drone strike was carried out against the US Fifth Fleet’s presence in Bahrain. It also claimed that missile attacks targeted Jordan’s Al-Azraq Air Base, where multiple military facilities, including aircraft shelters and command centers, were reportedly struck.

Iranian officials further claimed that a drone operation targeted Kuwait’s Ali Al Salem Air Base. However, Kuwaiti authorities said their air defense systems were actively monitoring the situation and working to intercept potential threats while maintaining surveillance of the country’s airspace.

Iran also reported damage to civilian infrastructure in the southern region of Sirik, including telecommunications facilities and water storage systems. Iranian officials warned that any continuation of US military actions could trigger a stronger response.

Meanwhile, the United States Central Command (CENTCOM) announced that it had completed its retaliatory military operations against Iran.

Earlier, US officials said American forces conducted airstrikes on approximately 20 targets in southern Iran under orders from President Donald Trump. According to US sources, the strikes were carried out in multiple waves and were described as defensive measures.

Iran confirmed that several areas near Jask, Bandar Abbas, Minab, Sirik, and Kuh Mobarak were affected by the attacks. However, authorities have not released detailed information regarding the specific facilities that were hit.

Local officials in Iran’s Hormozgan Province reported damage to water infrastructure in Sirik County. The head of the provincial water and wastewater company stated that key components of the area’s water distribution network were destroyed during the strikes.

The latest developments have heightened concerns about regional stability, with international observers urging all parties to exercise restraint and avoid further escalation. Diplomatic efforts are expected to continue as the situation remains highly sensitive across the Middle East.
