Iran Says Any Israeli Attack on Lebanon Will Be Considered a Violation of Agreement

Tehran: Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has stated that any future Israeli military action against Lebanon will be regarded as a violation of the recently reached agreement between Iran and the United States.

Speaking to foreign diplomats in Tehran, Araghchi said that the announcement of the end of hostilities followed the conclusion of negotiations between Tehran and Washington. He added that the memorandum of understanding (MOU) is scheduled to officially take effect on Friday.

According to the Iranian foreign minister, developments in Lebanon and Iran are closely linked. He argued that the continued Israeli presence in Lebanese territory would be viewed as a breach of the agreement and stressed that any military action against Lebanon would be unacceptable under the new framework.

Araghchi explained that future talks between Iran and the United States are expected to take place in two phases. The first stage will focus on issues related to the Strait of Hormuz, maritime restrictions, and reconstruction efforts in the region.

The second phase of negotiations will address Iran’s nuclear program and the possible removal of international sanctions.

The Iranian foreign minister further said that, from Tehran’s perspective, one side of the agreement consists of Iran and Hezbollah, while the other includes the United States and Israel.

His remarks came amid renewed tensions along the Israel-Lebanon border. Israeli authorities said their forces targeted militants who approached troops operating in southern Lebanon. Meanwhile, Hezbollah claimed it carried out retaliatory missile and drone attacks against Israeli military positions.

The latest statements highlight the continuing sensitivity of regional security issues despite ongoing diplomatic efforts aimed at reducing tensions and advancing negotiations.Iran Says Any Israeli Attack on Lebanon Will Be Considered a Violation of Agreement
